‘Indigestibles: Heartburn’

Public participatory workshops, in collaboration with Dafna Maimon for Helsinki Biennial, 2021

‘These outdoor workshops offered an embodied, sensorial exploration of the digestive system, uncovering the character and qualities of one of the human body’s hardest working systems. It explored the mouth and gut-tube as a central axis of support and as the bodies’ primary means of orientation through space. Within it we explored themes of “what we take in and what we let go of” as a digesting entity in the world.’

I was invited by Dafna to devise and lead this series of workshops over three days in August 2021 as part of her contribution to the Helsinki Biennial.
